概要

PyCon JP 2018 が9月15日（土）～18日（火）に開催されます。これに合わせて、Start Python ClubはMUFGとコラボして、特別イベント「Pythonグローバルミートアップ」を開催します！
　今回はPythonのコアディベロッパとして、Unicode対応など重要な開発に携わり、EuroPython Societyの会長（Chair）としても活躍しているMarc-André Lemburg氏をお迎えし、Pythonのコアな開発に関する濃いパネルディスカッション（同時通訳あり）を企画しました。
　迎える日本側からもコアコントリビューターとして著名なゲストにご参加いただき、議論を盛り上げていただきます。トピックスとしては、90年代から始まったPythonの黎明期から、これまでの歴史と変遷、今もっとも熱い技術分野など。そしてこれからのPythonの夢について、パネリストに自由に語っていただくとともに、会場からとも双方向的に語り合う楽しい夜にしましょう。
　日本と海外のPythonistaの交流を深める貴重な機会になりますので、ぜひご参加ください。いつものStapyどおり、終わった後のビアバッシュ＆LTセッションも熱いです！懇親会の参加費は無料です！

Outlook

PyCon JP 2018 is going to be held between Sep 15 and 18. In order to warm up for the annual big Python event, We, Start Python Club will have a joint meetup with MUFG, "Python Global Meetup".
In this meetup, we are going to have a panel discussion by prominent core Python developers including Marc-André Lemburg, the chair of EuroPython Society who dedicated to the several important Python projects such as Unicode character processing.
Furthermore, we've invited prominent core contributors from Japan to enhance the Python talks. The discussion will cover several topics such as the early days of Python in 90's, history & transformation, the hottest technical areas and so on. We are looking forward to having an enthusiastic event with free and bidirectional discussion between speakers and audience.
Please join our hot meetup since it will be a great opportunity to establish friendship among global Pythonistas. Of course, we'll have a get-together party after talk session. And you can join for free!

登壇者プロフィール

Marc-André Lemburg

Point Nine Limited（※1）のIT Head、eGenix.comのCEO。ドイツ出身。デュッセルドルフ大学卒業。
2002-2004年, 2010-2016年にはPythonソフトウェア財団の取締役、2016年よりEuro Python Society会長を務める。

Marc-André Lemburg is the IT Head of Point Nine Limited and the CEO of eGenix.com. He graduated from University of Dusseldorf, Germany.
He used to be the director of Python Software Foundation in the period of 2002-2004 and 2010-2016. Since 2016, he has been the chair of Euro Python Society.

Pavlos Christoforou

Point Nine Limited（※1）のCEO。キプロス出身。Imperial College Londonにて学士、Stony Brook Universityにて修士取得。2002年にPoint Nine Limitedを創業。

Pavlos Christoforou is the CEO of Point Nine Limited. He received B.S. degree from Imperial College London and M.S. degree from Stony Brook University. In 2002, he founded Point Nine Limited in Cyprus, where is his home country.

清原 弘貴 (Hiroki Kiyohara)

Djangoが好きで、django-jaというコミュニティーやDjangoCongress JPというイベントのの代表をしたり、Webアプリケーションやライブラリを作ったりしている。
仕事ではPyQ（https://pyq.jp/ ）というWebサービスの企画、開発をしている。
共著書に『Pythonエンジニア ファーストブック（2017 技術評論社刊）』、『Pythonプロフェッショナルプログラミング第三版（2018 秀和システム）』がある。
